So whats going on @ Penny Savings Condos over in the South End? From the “smell” of things a new sheek french restaurant has emerged in the ever cool Penny Savings building.
The Name: Banq (Bank with a “q”)
Boston restaurateurs Hemant Chowdhry and Mark Raab are excited to announce the opening of Banq in the beautifully renovated Penny Saving Bank building in Boston’s white hot South End.
For well over a year, Chowdhry and Raab searched the world for the right chef to lead their kitchen before choosing Ranveer Brar, formerly executive chef of The Claridges, New Dehli.
Executive chef Brar uses his classical French training and influences from work and travel in Singapore, India, London, and Southeast Asia to delight diners with his culinary excellence and international flair.
Banq’s sleek and sexy space, designed by the award winning team of Office dA, takes advantage of the soaring ceilings and exquisite details of this Classical Revival former bank, built in 1917.
So had anyone been to Banq yet? I will be over there this evening for some cocktails with some colleagues if anyone wants to pop by and say hello.
So what else is going on @ Penny Savings? Condo sales seem to keep plugging along.
